rom the Visitor Centre it's a pretty 5 minute walk along the right bank of the river past the National Trust shop and the Youth Hostel to the 'Pool', the Breakwater and the Harbour beyond. With the sea ahead, this an excellent place to begin a cliff walk, past the Blow Hole (which performs one hour each side of low tide) up to Profile Rock and Penally Point where a tiny island called the Meachard can be seen and in the distance Penally Hill.

Along the left bank of the river the path leads to dramatic cliffs above Forrabury Common. From here the views of both the countryside and the coastline are quite stunning, befitting an 'Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty'. The National Trust cliff path winds its way towards Tintagel, the legendary seat of King Arthur and the Court of Camelot.

Boscastle is popular with the walking fraternity at any time of the year. It has something for everyone, from a relaxing stroll around the Harbour to an invigorating day long trek over the cliffs.

he Valency Valley is another picturesque area very close to the Village centre. It starts from the car park by the Harbour and continues along the Valency River - the tumbling stream provides an ideal habitat for dippers, grey wagtails and even otters.
orrabury Heights, Clover Lane Close has an enviable position commanding views along the coast in both Easterly and Westerly directions.

Directly ahead, clearly outlined against the sky, stands Forrabury Church - dating back to Norman times and containing many interesting features including an early 12th century porch.
The Church backs onto Forrabury Common which is made up of an open field system known as 'The Stitches' - this is a Medieval farming method where the land is clearly divided into unbound strips. Today the edges of each strip are full of interesting and unusual wild flowers protected by the National Trust Beyond are the cliffs of Willapark headland with breath-taking views, north to Cambeak and south to Tintagel Island.

ll this - only a short walk from Forrabury Heights.
